The White Hart

The White Hart is an independent public house set in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside within easy reach of many local tourist attractions such as Buxted Park and The Ashdown Forest. The recently refurbished restaurant and bar combines clean open plan design with some of the traditional features of an old English Public House, creating a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere.

Along with the classic British pub bar & restaurant there is the conservatory restaurant, perfectly suited for both social and business gatherings. In the warmer months, the country garden is open for diners, drinkers and events.

We strongly believe that the food should speak for itself.

Here at The White Hart all the simple, classic dishes that you know and love are created using the best quality, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and presented to you 'perfectly' all for a reasonable price. What more can you ask?

Our simple ethos applies here to but this time there's a bit more creativity, a bit more adventure. So whether you are in the mood for a British classic or you are looking to try something new and excite your tastebuds we like to think we've got it covered.

Drinks

We are a free house, which means we can sell whatever we want or more importantly whatever you want! We truly do listen to what our customers say they want so we have a weekly Guest Ale, utilising both the seasons and customer requests to decide what should be next. Obviously being a Sussex Pub we sell Harveys Best Bitter, it would be wrong not to. We work very closely with our wine merchant to ensure that we always have something available for all pallets.
